Spam Analysis

Here, we have a case in which the spammer has attempted to hide the contents of his message from content-based spam filters by inserting bogus HTML tags. This tactic was rampant during 2003-2004, but most spammers have since moved on to other techniques (possibly because this trick doesn’t work very well anymore at keeping the spam from being caught by most filters).

Greymail Spam

Greymail is the result of the virus and spam filtering options. Whenever the Virus Scanner or the Spam Filter catches a message that is identified as a virus or as spam, they will re-direct the message to Greymail. Greymail is essentially a quarantine area to contain these undesirable messages.

All Greymail is configured to automatically delete after a period of 14 days or less, depending on the user configurable setting. You may delete messages, forward messages, read messages, and configure a list of users that you always want to receive mail from.
